Workshop 1

July 30 2020

Online via video, 10am-4pm (including breaks)

  • Expert presentations – digital literacy and practice in arts organizations
  • Participants outline the digital environment in their organization, and any issues they have chosen to address
  • Discussion
  • One-to-one and group work on narrowing the focus of work (for those who have an idea) and investigation of what issues to explore (for those who do not) – including how to assess a medium
  • Networking and setting up of the group for continued informal discussion outside of the workshops

Mentoring Period 1

August 1 – September 8 2020

  • Participants further consider the issues in the light of the first workshop and what they have learned
  • Informal online discussion amongst participants
  • Mentoring of each participant partnership, support with exploring issues to craft and/or develop a project idea
  • By the end of this mentoring period, each organization selects an aspect to focus on and develop

Workshop 2

September 9 2020

Online via video, 11am-4pm (including breaks)

  • Expert presentations on areas of focus
  • Discussion
  • Practical skills development
  • Individual mentoring and skills training
  • Discussion

Mentoring Period 2

September 10 – October 20 2020

  • Participants develop their practice and work towards achieving their objective
  • Informal online discussion and problem-solving amongst participants
  • Mentoring of each participant, support with developing digital tools necessary, help and support in overcoming obstacles
  • Each participant (group) aims to develop a digital outcome to present, along with a list of issues raised in their practice

Workshop 3

Online via video, 11am-4pm (including breaks)

October 21 2020

  • Participants present a progress report
  • Discussion
  • Individual mentoring and skills training – to tackle issues that have arisen, and to consider further development, or a new area of focus where new issues have arisen

Mentoring Period 3

October 22 – January 19 2021

  • Participants further develop their digital project
  • Informal online discussion and problem-solving amongst participants
  • Mentoring of each participant, help and support in overcoming obstacles, developing ideas further, and if necessary, moving in a new direction
  • Analysis of process, issues and challenges raised during the initiative, project outcomes, areas for further development

Culminating event and sharing session

20 January 2021

  • Expert presentations summarize what the participants have learnt about digital literacy and practice in their organizations, and how challenges have been overcome
  • Participants’ presentations summarize their digital projects, the process of identifying issues and working towards achieving their objectives
  • Discussion of the project, lessons learnt, and its outcomes
  • Closing expert presentation addressing how the successes and setbacks of the project suggest areas for future development for arts organizations
